we're so back tuesday
Aug. 12th, 2025 03:09 pmooooh baby been busy! drove back to my apartment with my mom in July, she was here for a week, then my partner flew out both to visit and also for the wedding that the ketubah was for, between all the driving back and forth from airport and also wedding stuff I simply have not had the drive in me to Post. but we're so back. technically I made a very short tuesdaypost on July 23 but I never posted it on dreamwidth or tumblr so did it really happen etc so I'm comboing it with this one a little, if you want the ketubah WIP you can see it on my neocities page
catching up on fatt perpetua still
just king things episode on under the dome/miscellanous just king things episodes
paramore 'the only exception' been in my brain rent free for some reason. slowly noodling on friend guitar to learn it.
new JGMD!
still going through Evil As Humans as nighttime reading! very charmed by the revelation that occurs approximately mid-book
Just Out of Sight, Never Out of Mind by BastetCG: found it from tumblr fanart. fun little romp with one of the silliest tgcf guys.
in the past few weeks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer! it's on tubi! it's free! it has not aged particularly well in many ways but I am definitely still enjoying. the biggest thing I am taking away from it is we need more filler episodes god damn it. television seasons should be 20 episodes long and less than half should be mainline plot. the rest should just be fun romps.
watched columbo with my mom :-) some of those episodes are long as fuck though
finished s1 of apothecary diaries with partner!!!! really lovely charming show. we both got very excited when we realized that s2 is already out.
finally ran DnD again, it's fine
blades in the dark!! scud gauntlet is sooo normal don't even worry about it. literally obsessed with our crew, mad shoutout to the GM for assembling us all. next time I'm home for an extended stretch I really want to drive the few hours to play in person.
the Big Event that ate up my past few weeks was friend wedding, and I DID complete the ketubah in time. let's fucking go. much blood sweat tears etc but it's done and now I have my kitchen table back after it monopolized it for a while. if anyone wants a bespoke ketubah for their wedding: ask someone else I'm never doing this again (this is a half joke). the text my friend chose was very sweet but I did censor it here for the sake of not doxxing her or her new husband lol. the sun and some other details are done in copper leaf, which reminds me I need to order the sealant so it doesn't oxidize. in lieu of figuring out how to get the text printed on textured watercolor paper (and she did NOT ask me to do this with enough time to calligrapher it myself lol), I treated the image like a 'frame' and had the text printed out on normal paper in a local print shop! and I think it came out well doing it that way, the detail of the copper leaf on the inside of the framing was an especially good touch, shoutout to my partner for suggesting that.
lots of wedding food and related leftovers...made a halfhearted attempt at a salmon slop bowl as seen on on instagram (roast salmon, some sort of soft cheese like feta or boursin, and whatever veggies you want until the salmon is done, then mash it all together and add pasta) but I didn't have the soft cheese so I just kinda did the fish and veg plus maccy cheese
